Website Sketches
The above sketches are for a non-profit organization started by myself and my family in memory of my brother called the Boricanta Foundation. I currently do not have a website created for the organization, so I thought this would be a good time to get some ideas detailed out for this particular project.
Since it is a non-profit, I think the design for the website should be sleek and clearly provide the information needed for those who would like to not only donate but also to volunteer. So I kept the navigation relatively simple and am contemplating adding certain graphics to it.

Avatar Final
I took a picture of myself on the left and manipulated it and my end result was the picture on the right. The assignment was a bit more challenging than I first anticipated. I used layers to manipulate the texture of the skin by adding noise and embossing and applying the soft overlay. I hand painted the skin color using the airbrush tool and giving it an overall pink hue. I also manipulated the shape of the eyebrows and reduced the size of the eyes using a combination of hand painting with the airbrush and also the stamping tool. I also used the blur tool to soften the edges of the items that were hand painted. To create the sort of fur helmet, I used a specialty brush and the tattoos on her face were airbrushed to match the skin texture and the blur tool was used to smooth out the edges.
Avatar Preliminary Sketch
This is the preliminary sketch of my avatar. I am not sure if I will add all of the details yet, but it gives me a lot of ideas to work with. I would like to manipulate the skin on the avatar most, applying birthmarks and tattoos that appear to be a part of her skin.

Book Cover Final
For the final composition, I pretty much stuck to the ideas presented in the preliminary sketch but changed the layout because of the need for laying out text in a certain way and deciding which way made most sense,
Book Cover Preliminary Sketch
For the front cover I wanted a singular image to stand out and that was the image of a clarinet. The clarinet was Benny Goodman's first learned instrument and it was the instrument he became famous for. I figured it would not only make a powerful statement visually but also as to what the book would be about; Benny Goodman and his journey as a musician.
On the right side was an image of Benny Goodman along with a text description of the book. I also included a snippet area for the author.
